press release
ISFM delegates challenged to ‘release the beast’

Delegates who have attended the feline congresses run by the European Society of Feline Medicine (now the International Society – ISFM) have always been game for a dinner theme challenge.  Over past congresses there have been colour themes – gold, black and white, aqua; and glamour themes – glitter and sparkle, and masquerade. Each year delegates have risen to the occasion – as can be seen by the attached pictures.  This year the artistic challenge is a little greater.  It can, of course, all be blamed on Ross Tiffin, ISFM’s commercial coordinator.  On a recce to the venue he spotted a poster entitled ‘Release the beast’ with a picture of a roaring lion and proposed that that should be the dinner theme in Amsterdam!  So, there is much talk of leopard print, snake skin and anything which looks vaguely animalistic in the ISFM office.  There are zebra shoes and leopard eyelashes, ring masters, monsters, hunters and who knows what – the creativity of the feline people should never be underestimated!  And remember, you need to be able to dance in it!

So, if you fancy some brilliant science, lots of practical tips to take back to practice, friendly people and a fun venue in the centre of lovely Amsterdam, then why not put June 17 – 20 in your diary and come to the ISFM Feline Congress.  We’re focusing on pain management in cats and feline dentistry and have world class speakers.  Make sure you leave enough room in your suitcase for your outfit though – it is one of the highlights of the congress.  This year the dinner is sponsored by Novartis who will be awarding a prize for the most interesting costume!  Not to be missed.
